Jonathan Cripps

Within the rail sector, Jonathan has advised on new rail infrastructure projects (such as HS2), rolling stock procurement and financing (rolling stock is now regarded as a new infrastructure asset class) and signalling projects (both in-cab and trackside).  Outside the UK, Jonathan has also advised on regulatory matters such as the proposed assignment of the rail function to the municipality of Cape Town in South Africa.  

Jonathan advises clients throughout the lifespan of a project. This includes procurement and bidding, refinancings and secondary markets acquisitions and disposals.

Jonathan is a rare type of lawyer who gives pragmatic advice and is able to find a way through difficult transactions to the benefit of his client. He also always makes sure he understands the bigger picture of what his clients wish to achieve.
